SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) has been awarded the contract for the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) services for the upcoming Gurugram Metro line, a 28.5 km elevated corridor connecting HUDA Millenium City Centre and Cyber City. This project, overseen by the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Ltd. (HMRTC), will establish a ring line linking Gurugram with Old Gurugram through 27 stations.

SYSTRA emerged as the lowest bidder after their technical bid was the only one submitted when the tender was opened in early June. This contract, known as Package GGNCCDD-15(R3), marks the fourth attempt to award this long-delayed design contract, which comes with a 48-month timeline.

SYSTRA’s Financial Bid Value: Rs. 43,78,57,000 (43.78 crore)

Brief Scope: The contract involves the detailed design for civil, architectural, and electrical and mechanical works along the 28.5 km elevated section, including 27 stations, covering the main corridor from Millennium City Centre to Cyber City (26.65 km) and a spur from Basai Village to Dwarka Expressway.

The HMRTC’s estimate for the project remains undisclosed, leaving the outcome of the bid uncertain. However, the fact that HMRTC proceeded with evaluating SYSTRA’s technical bid and subsequently opened the financial bid suggests a readiness to move forward, even with a single bidder. The next step will depend on whether SYSTRA’s bid aligns with the project’s budgetary estimates.

Should the contract be awarded, SYSTRA will be tasked with delivering and proposing alternative designs for all civil, architectural, building services, and electrical and mechanical works for the entire metro line.

This new metro line will feature interchanges with Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line and Gurgaon’s Rapid Metro. Additionally, it is anticipated to intersect with the 72 km Delhi–Dharuhera (RRTS) line at Cyber City and Hero Honda Chowk.

In May, HMRTC also invited bids for the role of General Consultant for this line. The consultant will assist with design, supervision, safety, quality control, and contract management. The technical bids for this contract are expected to be opened on August 20, and progress on that tender is being closely monitored.
