HANDS-ON TRAINING IN TUNNEL DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION, AND LATEST INNOVATIONS
OVERVIEW
Tunnels are essential components of a nation's infrastructure, playing critical roles in urban transportation, railways, highways, water management, sewerage systems, hydro-electric power, and various other sectors. This course provides an introduction to all forms of tunneling, with a focus on tunneling techniques, their applicability in different soils, and the consideration of various physical constraints.
Key aspects of the course include understanding different tunneling methods and their suitability for various soil types, learning strategies to mitigate risks associated with tunneling projects, and gaining the ability to classify subsurface materials in relation to their excavation and support performance. Additionally, you will identify new trends and advancements in tunneling technology, develop the skills to select appropriate tunneling methods and lining systems for specific situations, and learn to choose and specify suitable investigation techniques and equipment for tunneling projects.
Upon completing this course, you will be equipped to make informed decisions about tunneling projects, ensuring efficiency and safety in their execution.
WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR
This course is ideal for professionals in the construction industry seeking a comprehensive understanding of modern tunneling techniques and practices or an update on current technical and contractual tunnel management methods. It will be particularly beneficial for construction and project managers, design and project engineers (both field and office-based), construction supervisory personnel, construction cost estimators, and graduate geotechnical engineers and geologist.
This course is also open to engineering student seeking to develop career in tunnel design and construction.
